G.657 bending insensitive fiber is usually used in the optical fiber. FTTH drop cable is commonly known as indoor suspended cable. The FTTH drop optical cable for the access network (for indoor wiring) is to place the optical unit (optical fiber) in the center, and the two parallel non-metallic strength members (FRP or KFRP) FTTH drop cable or metal strength members(steel wire) are placed on both sides, with the outer jacket of PVC or LSZH.

The self-supporting drop cable is with a thick steel wire suspension wire compared with common indoor drop cable. There are two types of butterfly-shaped home optical cables: non-metallic strengthen members and metal strengthen members. Considering of lightning and strong electric interference, non-metallic strengthen members should be used indoors, such as: FRP&KFRP.
